On Sunday, a tragic incident occurred in Marana, Arizona, where two small planes collided mid-air, resulting in two fatalities. The accident took place around 10 a.m. near Marana Regional Airport. The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident and reported that each plane was occupied by one person, both of whom perished in the crash. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), one of the involved aircraft was identified as a Cessna 177, and both planes were en route to the airport when the collision happened. Following the incident, a team from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was dispatched to investigate the cause of the crash. A witness at the scene, John Thompson, reflected on the rarity and tragedy of such events, stating, “You fly to live another day, but sometimes things just happen.” Thompson, who was preparing to fly himself, underscored the unexpected nature of flying accidents.
